Weekly Planet

The Weekly Planet is a comedy comic book movie podcast. It is very informal and takes place inside one of the host's house. The hosts also include news about other films and media occasionally, but comic book films is the most common topic. Sometimes they invite guests on, usually other pod casters that they know, and sometimes they include interviews from actors or directors.

Infinite Monkey Cage

Infinite Monkey Cage is another comedy podcast about science. It takes place live in front of an audience, but it is also recorded. Every week there is a different main topic, and they also talk about recent news, and answer audience questions. There are different guests for each show, although the main hosts are always the same. 

Comparison

Whilst both podcasts are funny and entertaining, I think The Weekly Planet works better, as it feels more like taking part in a conversation than watching a show. Infinite Monkey Cage works worse because it depends on the guests being funny and having interesting opinions, and since the cast changes every week, especially funny guests will likely never be on the podcast again. The Weekly Planet is always the main two and guests are quite rare, and even when there are guests, since they are pod casters, you can find a new podcast to listen to if you find the guests entertaining. However I do think that Infinite Monkey Cage keeps it's show fresh by having different guests every time, and it does make it entertaining and intriguing because you have no idea where it will go. 

On the other hand, when Infinite Monkey Cage explores the realm of sci fi, it has the advantage because of its scientific background, and the imaginative comedians making the scientist's child-ruining comments into fun jokes.

In terms of entertainment factor, I think The Weekly Planet is more fun, partially because the two hosts are comedians, but also because the musical ques that indicate the section of the podcast give the show a tone of simple, unique, fun.
